Privacy Policy

Information saved on your device

This version saves your recipes, original scan images, shopping lists, price history, staples, trip notes, store preferences and displayed scanner balances in your browser’s local storage. There are currently no user accounts, cloud backups or cross-device synchronization for this information.

Local storage remains until you delete items or clear your browser’s site data. Clearing site data can permanently remove your saved cookbook on that device. Sharing controls currently change the local community collection only; they do not publish your recipe to other users.

Optional AI processing

When you scan recipe photos or shelf labels, the selected images are sent through Lovable’s AI service to Google Gemini for processing. Nutrition estimation sends the recipe title, serving count and ingredients. If a recipe website cannot be read from its structured data, extracted page text may be sent to the same AI service.

These requests leave your device. Do not submit sensitive personal information, faces, addresses or private documents that are not necessary for the recipe or price scan. We do not specify AI-provider retention or training practices here because they are governed by the providers’ own terms and policies.

Website imports and external content

For a URL import, our server requests the website you provide. That website receives the request and may record it under its own privacy policy. Imported photos can be loaded from their original website, which receives your browser’s image request. Submit only URLs you have permission to access, and avoid private links containing access tokens or personal information.

Hosting, fonts and diagnostics

Lovable hosts the app. Hosting and service providers may process connection information such as IP addresses, request details and error logs to deliver and maintain the service. The app loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives browser requests when those fonts load. The editor preview may report error details and page paths to Lovable for troubleshooting.

Local storage is used to keep your cookbook and preferences. The current app does not include advertising or an advertising-tracking integration.

Payments and support

Checkout is not yet enabled. When it becomes available, Paddle will process payment and billing information as Merchant of Record under its own Privacy Policy. We do not store full payment card numbers.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use those details to respond to support, refund or privacy requests and to meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Your choices and rights

You can choose manual recipe and price entry instead of AI processing, delete individual saved items, or clear the app’s site data in your browser. We cannot recover data that exists only in your browser. Contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of information held by us, or other privacy rights that apply in your location. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Their own privacy terms govern their processing. The app is not directed to children under 13; please contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information to us.

Policy updates

We will update this policy when our data practices change, including before introducing accounts or shared cloud storage, and show the new effective date here.
